Description
U. S. COIN / SILVER AGE (OMN) COVERED COMPOTE, colorless with frosted coins, high standard, base featuring nine quarters around bowl and six dimes around stem, cover featuring nine quarters and a dollar finial. Central Glass Co. Circa 1891-1892. 11 1/2" HOA, 7 3/4" H base, 8" D bowl.
Provenance: From a Charlottesville, VA private collection.

Ex-collection of Dr. Larry McCallister.
Catalogue Note: This is supposedly the next to largest size of covered compote made in U. S. Coin. According to Tim Timmerman a 9" diameter example should exist, but an actual specimen has not been recorded. This is the only example of the 8" diameter example that we have sold.
