ALEXANDER VON FALKENHAUSEN 1878 - 1966) German infantry general awarded the Pour le Merite in World War I. Assigned the military command in Belgium and northern France 1940-44 arresting for complicity in the July Plot and sent to Dachau. Accused of executing Belgians and deporting Jews sentenced to 12 years imprisonment. Rare A.L.S. 1p. large 4to. Breslau Sep. 20 1933 largely friendly content thanking his correspondent for a letter and setting forth his travel schedule: ""I have to go to Dresden tomorrow..."". File holes in left margin else fine.
