GUNTHER LUTJENS (1889 - 1941) German Admiral whose military service spanned almost 30 years. Lütjens was one of only three flag officers who protested in writing against the anti-Jewish ""Kristallnacht"" pogroms but is most remembered for going down on the battleship BISMARCK on May 27 1941.
