Description
AMERICAN OFFICER'S ""UTAH BEACH"" TRAVEL CASE An American officer's leather travel case which accompanied him throughout his travels in England and continental Europe as attested to by his having burned his dozens of destinations into the body of the case. ""James R. Randall"" whose nickname ""Dunk"" also appears on the 12"" x 7"" x 5 1/2"" case notes that he sailed on the troopship Aquitania and was for some time stationed at ""Camp Blackshaw Moor"". He then apparently landed on ""Utah Beach"" having been transported by ""L.S.T."". It appears that Randall fought throughout France Luxembourg Holland Belgium and Germany including the area about the Ardennes at Avranches Bastogne Frankfurt Liege and dozens of other locales. The case in excellent shape also contains several Bakelite soap and other containers. In all likelihood Randall was a member of the 565th Anti-Aircraft Battalion.
