Description
Die stamp for making posters to a play of Mirandolina, a comedy opera by Czech composer Bohuslav Martinu, played by the Austin, TX Repertory Theater. Obviously, as it is a stamp, it is mirrored. It reads: AUSTIN REPERTORY THEATER PRODUCTION OF: MIRANDOLINA, A COMEDY EXTRAORDINARY. It was all hand done by artists probably from the University of Texas. Stretched on plywood. The comedy was premiered in 1959 in Prague, after the death of Martinu. This play in Texas was probably done in his memory a few years later, during the early 1960s. Measurements: Approx. 28" x 18.75" overall
