Description
Engraved by Frederick Stacpoole (English, 1813-1907) after the painting by Elizabeth "Lady Butler" Thompson (British, 1846-1933). "Quatre Bras", hand colored engraving, published in 1879. Engraving depicts a scene from the Battle of Quatre Bras in present day Belgium on June 16th, 1815, two days before the Battle of Waterloo during the Napoleonic Wars. Framed approximately 35.75" x 54", sight size 24" x 42.25".
