Pre-Columbian, Peru, Central Highlands, Inca, Ca 1400 CE. A fabulous ancient textile from the Inca! Brightly woven textile panel with repeating anamorphic motif woven within cross-like and linear forms, hues of tan, cream, green, and blue on red background and embroidered borders. Professionally conserved and cleaned, hand-sewn onto large panel mounted on dark green museum quality fabric. Textile itself measures 38-1/2" x 37-1/2".
Provenance: Ex-Westermann Collection, Germany, acquired in the 1950s.
