This is a metal sculpture by renown artist Frederic Remington. A cowboy is portrayed holding his hat tightly, while riding a wild bucking bronco. Remington studied the movement of horses, which allowed him to convey the unbridled emotion into the overall work of art. BiographyFrederic Remington (1861-1910) studied at the Yale School of Art, and trained mostly as an illustrator. It was for health reasons that he went West, and later served as a war correspondent during the Spanish American War. He later worked as a magazine illustrator, and began devoting himself to the expanding Western frontier. With a body of work that includes drawings, paintings, and bronze sculpture, Remington has come to be respected as the foremost artist of the American West.
