This large upright Vaseline vase constitutes a valuable collectible, with a Depression era pedigree. Our vase weighs 4# 6 oz. and stands 5.5 x 5.5 x 8.5 inches tall, and is in wonderful condition. Loren Morse was a respected family man and Vaseline collector, and his untimely passing a year ago was a blow to everyone. The Morse family gratefully appreciates your participation in this Estate sale. xxxxxxxxxxxxx. The Frantisek Halama Company of Zelezny Brod Czechoslovakia, was established in 1932 at Alsovice, a refinery to produce decorative cut glass. Frantisek Halama (1913-1976) studied and graduated from the glass-making school in Zelezny Brod (1927-1930), and achieved a master class degree at the glass-making school in todays city of Nový Bor. In 1936 Halama began to export his products directly to the USA, India, Italy and other countries. A year later in the 1937, his glass was included in the award-winning participants of Czechoslovakian glass exposition, at the World Exhibition in Paris. In 1940 Halama moved his business from Alšovice to Zelezny Brod. Halamas forms were obviously inspired by competition in Jablonec, but on the other hand he invested in his own designs. Jindřich Tockstein, Oldrich Zak, and Ladislav Prenosil had been making designs for him since the inception of the company. xxxxxxxxxxxxx. In 1948, the company was forced to stop production during nationalization, and Frantisek Halama himself, was only permitted to work as a simple glass industry molder. After 1948, Halamas designs were included in the Ingrid collection. In 1994 Frantisek Halama Jr. approached the Czech government to reclaim his fathers original property, and being successful in 1994, began reproducing some of the original designs and production secrets acquired from his father. At that juncture, the company also reclaimed its original name Frantisek Halama. The late vintage special finish constitutes marvelous mold pressed glass in the imitation of leaded cut crystal. Based upon this information, there is no reason to believe that the frosted aspects of our perfumes are not the original family finish. The The Frantisek Halama stickers are a shouldered oval form, containing a Ehaiama + Zezleny Brod ss (or de) Bohemia border. The Frantisek Halama items included glass perfume bottles, atomizers, trays, plates, bowls, vases, covered boxes, punch bowl set, handled fruit baskets and more.
