Late 18th and early 19th century booklet with hand sewn binding, and fraktur type illuminations of the children of Thomas Wilson II and Elizabeth Hays of Maryland. Each page in pen and ink, some with watercolor, describe the children of Thomas Wilson II. He served in the 4th Company, Frederick Detachment of the 4th Battalion of Maryland during the American Revolution, and also distinguished himself in the French and Indian Wars. This wonderful collection features pages for his 9 children, some more elaborately decorated than others. A great discovery of a rare form of American folk art ephemera. Height 3 3/8 Inches (8.5 cm) Width 7 3/8 Inches (18.8 cm)
Condition
Generally good, with some wear, staining and discoloration, the first page, or cover page, appears to be missing.
