Outstanding March 6, 1776 South Carolina One Pound Fifteen Shillings PCGS EF-40 Premium Paper Quality
South Carolina. March 6, 1776. One Pound Fifteen Shillings. PCGS graded Extremely Fine-40 Premium Paper Quality.
Fr. SC-121. This outstanding March 6, 1776 Revolutionary War period note is fresh and clean having exceptional eye appeal. It is well printed in red and black with a blank reverse. All border designs and text are sharply detailed. There is a Jumbo margin at right, the left side being tight. Issued was printed on the press of Francis Salvador the Jewish Patriot killed while sent on a mission to create Indian allies for George Washington and the American Revolutionary cause. Several Hebrew text letters are used as decorative and anti-counterfeiting devices in the first line of the black text. Both signatures are well written and easily readable. One of the finest premium quality examples we have ever encountered on this issue. A very tough denomination to locate that is missing in most South Carolina and Colonial currency collections.
