The woman is bathed in clear light. Her rings and brooch are gilded, and there is a gilded vertical line beside her head, perhaps hiding or suggesting a seam in the backdrop. The backdrop itself has rose-and-blue iridescence that is very unusual and attractive. The small flower vase and its contents are brightly colored. 1/6 plate daguerreotype sealed in original seals to a stippled octagonal mat in a nice floral case with intact spine. [4]
