Boy with daguerreotype viewer.

The boy, possibly the daguerreotypist's son, holds a case with an inlay design. There's another case on the table. There is possibly a framed magnifier on a stand, under which a plate is placed, so the image appears on the magnifier surface. It is also possible that the image that can be seen is an actual daguereotype, and this is a frame that can rotate to get the optimum position for viewing the duguerreotype. This is a rare device that I've never before seen depicted in a daguerreotype. 1/6 plate in double elliptical mat, in half case. Some minor defects on the plate.[3-]
