A classic scene looking down a road at a farm. The rosy clouds are the color of the "clear" ruby glass.
This is a period copy view of another image, probably a daguerreotype, as the rectangular form of the earlier plate can be seen when the mat is removed. That mat, by the way, with edges crimped inward, has "Early & Emerson Patent Applied For" stamped on the lower edge. The copying has increased the contrast, giving this a more "artistic" character enhanced by the unexpected rosy clouds. 1/6 plate in half case. [4] Condition report[4]See explanation of codes below
