Machine in workshop unusual 1/4 plate daguerreotype

There is a heavy stand, with wheels inside it. Something is suspended from its attachment to the wall. This is a factory or workshop interior, not a studio.

This ¼ plate daguerreotype is a copy of another daguerreotype, as the rectangular shape of the original plate can be seen when the oval mat is removed. As daguerreotypes were unique one-of-a-kind objects, it was common to make another copy daguerreotype if more than one example of an image was required.
