Hawaii Kamehameha's residence, Chase, Waikiki scene

This was the residence of Kamehameha V. 6 ½" x 9" albumen print on board mount, with title in pen beneath: "Cocoanut Grove -- Waikiki." Identified by a print in the Bishop Library and a book on the Sandwich Islands by Edward B. Scott, attributed to Henry Chase. A description of this spot by Mark Twain was published in the Sacramento Daily Union on April 21, 1866. An eBayer kindly informed that this is now the site of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. A rich print with a few minor surface imperfections. [3+]
