8" x 10" gelatin-silver print on heavy matte paper. Typed label on verso numbered "5A" titled "Ready" "Instantaneous (1/75,000 of a second exposure) photograph of fighting cocks." In pen: "H. E. Edgerton/ Kenneth J. Germeshausen/ Mass. Inst. Of Tech." Made between 1931 – and 1934.

We see the arm and legs of a man standing at left. He holds a cock ready to let it loose before the screen, as the other cock waits, tense and alert. An exciting picture of technical as well as artistic interest. No damage but slight wear. [2+]
