11" x 14" vintage toned gelatin-silver print on original board mount, signed dated and titled by Leonard on the mount recto, and with his W. 56th St. New York stamp on verso.
Leonard's work appeared on covers and pages of "House and Garden" magazine during the period when Andre Kertesz was employed there and the work of other great photographers was also featured. This is a masterful work with the rectangular buildings with their storefronts and decorated upper windows framed by the tree. The silhouettes of the children on the foreground bench contrast with the brightly illuminated women in the doorway across the street. [4]
