Title: Microbook Library of American Civilization
Publisher: Library Resources Inc. Details/Condition: Incredible resource in this exhaustive early United States history reference tool. Anyone working on building a rare book, print-on-demand business would find this collection invaluable. These microfiche leaves are still housed in the cabinet used when the library was operation; the collection does not appear to have been altered in any way since the library closed. The inventory embraces over 12,000 microfiche, representing 19,000 volumes containing more than 6.5 million pages of material covering American history from its beginnings to the start of World War I. It includes books, pamphlets, petitions, periodicals, works of poetry and fiction, biographies and autobiographies, public and private documents and many hard to find rare books. A thumbing-through of the leaves reveals that at least half of the titles were printed during the 1800's, as one might expect given the period of time covered. The microfiche leaves are labeled and categorized, each housed in its own clearly labeled pocket. The collection is too exhaustive to make a thorough inventory practical for us, but spot checks reveal no gaps and the cards are numbered 10001 through 40152 which does not include approximately 40 leaves of indices which precede the first content card. The collection fills just over six drawers in a Russ Bassett microfiche cabinet. Shipping cost (within the U.S.) for this lot will be: $99.50 ImagesClick on thumbnails to see larger images:
