Description
A fine statue of Bakongo tribe (Congo), it was made at early 1900. This is very rare because it is a fetish statue used for vodoo ritual. It is a male figure fastened with a chord. The dishes that you see in photos are made in metal. Dimension 32x15x14 cm (13,8x5,9x5,5 inch) 763 gr. (26,7 oz.). The Bakongo, or the Kongo people (Kongo: “hunters”), also referred to as the Congolese, are a Bantu ethnic group who live along the Atlantic coast of Africa from Pointe-Noire (Republic of Congo) to Luanda, Angola. They are primarily defined by the speaking of Kikongo, a common language. They are the largest ethnic group in the Republic of Congo.
