The guard carved with scrolls and inscribed in Arabic, ALLAH, ALLAH! and BISMILLAH AL RAHMAN AL RAHIM! (Blessings of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate!) The long, single-edged blade with evidence of layering and edge-hardening, and expanding toward the profiled tip with spikelet. Retains its red silk munsala cloth. Late 19th century. Minor wear.
