601. MARC CHAGALL (1887-1985). Russian-born French painter, the first "surrealist" to draw on Russian folklore and Biblical themes for his subject matter. Lovely color offset lithograph from his famed Daphnis and Chloe Suite [1961], 9"x12", entitled Daphnis and Gnathon. This colorful pristine print with the artist's classic imagery is boldly signed in white crayon near bottom border. Matted under plexiglass within antique gilt frame. Overall 15"x18". Impressive. Est: $150-300
