621. MILTON CANIFF (1907-1988). American cartoonist, the creator of Terry and the Pirates and Steve Canyon. TLS, 1p, 7¼"x10½", New York, Mar 13, 1956. On his Steve Canyon letterhead to an admirer. In part, "It was thoughtful of you to write me about the Murrow show and very kind of you to send along the nice pot holders which you made...It was an added pleasure to learn that you are devoted follower of Steve Canyon and I certainly hope that you will continue to find enjoyment in his future adventures..." Boldly signed. Plus ISP, b/w, 4"x5" quarter-length portrait to the same admirer, adding sentiment which includes his wife, and date "1956." Portion of the text in red crayon is written across dark area with fair contrast. Generally VG/Fine. Est: $100-200
