Elegant three-piece ensemble for five o'clock tea
This tea set, consisting of a teapot, sugar bowl and milk jug, was made by the British company The Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Co Ltd ,William Gibson & John Langman in 1895. The three parts each feature a round base with gadrooning on the lower section. One side is engraved with a family crest. The everted rims are decorated with leaf and shell decoration. The pot has a handle and finial mad of wood.
All pieces are hallmarked with sterling standard mark, town mark and date letter āUā (1895) as well as makerās initials āWGJLā and inscribed āGOLDSMITHS & SILVERSMITHS COMPANY 112 REGENT STā. The set is in good condition with light signs of age and wear. The teapot has a diameter of 15 cm and the total weight is approx. 970 g. (tfa)
