5 Items. ++ 2 programs issued by the Cotton Club in New York. (nd). [The Cotton Club was in existence at least from 1923-1940. One program is specified as Fourth Edition on the 2-page masthead] 4to. Stapled wraps. Foxing, mostly but not entirely to wraps and 1st leaf of Fourth Edition. Fourth Edition’s front wrap stained. ++ Albumen CDV, group shot of the Jubilee Singers. [So specified on previous owner’s note, which supplies date of “Ca. 1876.” The Jubilee Singers were founded in 1871, and their rendition of “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” from 1909 is in the National Recording Registry.] Prtd on backing: “Boardus Photographer.” (NY). Normal color change, very good. ++ THE WORLD-FAMOUS WILLIAMS’ JUBILEE SINGERS. Chi: (nd). (The last page consists of quotes from reviewers under heading “Just Returned from Europe.”) 4to. [4] pp. Minor creasing, very good plus. ++ WILLIAMS’ COLORED SINGERS. Mostly musical score, ending with a 3-page “Biography of the world-famous Williams’ Jubilee Signers,” with its latest date being Oscar B. Plant’s graduation from Wiley College in 1923. Stapled wraps. Paper brittle, tear to inner edge of last leaf.
