Bundi School

The Bundi School is an important part of Rajasthani miniature painting, which developed in the 17th to the 19th century in the area around Bundi and Kota. The imagery features typical Rajasthani elements but was also influenced by the Mughal style and bears similarities to the paintings from the Deccani School. Characteristic features are a rich and brilliant color as well as dynamic compositions with popular motifs such as tiger hunts or illustrations of royal life.

Condition: The miniature is in good condition with well-preserved colors and only minimal wear. The work is mounted under a mat measuring 25 x 19 cm. The sheet size is 18.4 x 12 cm.
