Very scarce 1911-C gold sovereign struck in Ottawa, Canada under British authority. Most sovereigns were struck in London, England or Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, Australia. This example was minted in Ottawa, Canada and is far more scarce that the other issues. To put things in perspective, consider that in 1911, over 30,000,000 sovereigns were struck in London, with an additional two to three million pieces struck at each of the three Australian mints. In Canada, only 257,048 sovereigns were produced in 1911. The specimen offered here is a problem-free Uncirculated example.
