Early 18C Caucasian Kaitag Embroidery Textile Rug Weaving. The rare 18th century or earlier textile is from the Montauk, NY estate of a Metropolitan Museum donor. From the same estate as the Kaitag embroidery we sold in an earlier 2013 sale. The early and rare handwoven Oriental textile from the southwest region of Daghestan, Russia is in good condition. The Kaitag textile panel has diagonal bands that depict trees and exotic foliage in a geometric pattern. In good condition with some edge wear commensurate with age. Measures 21 inches x 19 inches.
