French 19C Handmade Lace & Carved Bone Parasol. The fine 19th century intricately hand-made French black needle lace is accented by a pink silk interior lining. The very fine French black lace overlay has an intricate pattern of florals and butterflies. The parasol bone handle is intricately pierced carved with geometric patterns. In good condition, parasols functions properly. Measures 24 inches long. Hall-Jordan estate. Lace parasol will include original Jordan family note cards, with the Jordan family crest.

Mrs. Clifford Hall Jordan of Chicago inherited a large collection of antiques. She and her husband Scott Jordan, president of C. H. Jordan & Co., Funeral Directors, (a firm established in 1854 that handled arrangements when Abraham Lincoln’s body was brought to Chicago in 1865), displayed the collection of fine Chinese antiquities in their gilded age stone mansion in the Edgewater neighborhood on Lake Michigan in Chicago. The collection was passed down to their only child, W. Beaumont Jordan (1898-1973) and then on to his family descendents. Hall and Jordan family members emigrated from England to Massachusetts in the 1600’s, eventually settling in Piqua, Ohio.
