Item Details
Description
Two similar Victorian silver open salts of cauldron form with floral scroll embossing, blue glass liners and each raised on three hoof feet, hallmarks partly worn but likely London 1845. Together with a 1930's Britannia silver caster of baluster form with simple girdle decoration and pierced motifs to the removable cover, hallmarked London 1935. Silver weight 10.49 ozt (326.2 grams). (3).
Condition
All three items display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with their age and use. All would benefit from a polish. Caster appears in fairly good overall condition, the maker's mark is a little rubbed but still legible and the hallmarks are clear and legible. On the salts, there is some flattening to embossed decoration, some slight knocks and the hallmarks are partly worn.
