wood, slightly encrusted greyish brown patina, strings of cowrie shells around neck, arms and hips, scarification marks on the face, min. dam., slight traces of abrasion;
the Turka are a small ethnic group belonging to the Senufo. They have their homeland in southwestern Burkina Faso. Only a few figures from the Turka are known. They are characterized by their own peculiar style which however incorporates elements of the surrounding groups.
