Printed in red and black. Illustrated with ornamental woodcut borders and initials. 14.5x10.5 cm. (5¾x4"), finely bound in full green levant morocco, elaborately tooled in gilt, with red morocco floral inlays, raised bands, gilt compartments with floral inlays, gilt-rolled board edges, gilt dentelles, red silk endleaves, top edge gilt, original blue paper wrappers bound in. Later slipcase. Limited to 365 copies of which this is one of 350 on paper.

The fine binding executed by Leonard Mounteney, stamp-signed in gilt on lower front dentelle. There were also 15 copies on vellum. One of four small publications by Morris translated from "Nouvelles Francoises en prose du XIIIe siecle". Peterson A21.

Condition
