A FRENCH PARLOR SUITE. Comprising a sette and a pair of open armchairs. Upholstered in 19th Century tapestries depicting unicorns and mythological scenes Settee: 38" x 70" x 24"

These pieces have significant wear to the fabric and wood surface. These are stable and sturdy for use (wood frame and fabric). The upholstery has had significant restoration restitching throughout, closing scattered tears, holes, and splits in the needle work. There are a light amount of remaining tears and splits to the material, but it is in a stable and usable condition. There appears to be some significant fading to the lighter pigments in the cloth - possibly yellow and browns and greens?. This is especially noticeable to the background and sky in the couch. There is an uneven light grey and brown discoloration throughout the upholstery from grime and wear, but the couches appears to have been cleaned and have light dust build up overall. The cushions have probably been re-stuffed and the fabric on the backs and bottom of the settee cushion were probably add red later. There is a 3" x 2" tear the backing material on the couch at the top edge of the back rest near the middle. The wood has significant darker discoloration to the painted pigment and a medium amount of pigment loss from wear on the corners and edges. There is some light chipping to the seems in the wood on one of the back rests of the chairs. This has some possible patching with wood filler.
