These pieces have a medium amount of age appropriate wear. These pieces have a significant amount noticeable darker discoloration to the gilt and paint from age and grime build up. These have some possible restoration, the black skin pigment might be a new layer of paint, and there are some scattered indentions from chipping to the surface below the new black painted surface. The other color pigment have also been possibly repainted - especially the blue int he vest. The paint has an overall light amount of cracking and light flaking especially in the gilt areas.There is a light - medium amount of pen tip - 2" diameter sized chips to the gessoed surface exposing carved wood below. There is some light craquelure scattered throughout the surface of the painted areas that is stable. There is possibly a varnish layer on the surface for stabilization. There is light cracking/splitting to the wood that is most noticeable to the bases. There are a medium amount of pen tip sized holes scattering the wood - appears to be original inclusions in the wood. The electrical on this piece is in working order and it illuminates.
