Large wooden sign "J.H. WOOD & SON." - Either a country store sign or trade sign from an old wagon/buckboard. Late 19th century to early 20th century. Sign in original paint with red and black lettering on a white background. Some crazing, paint chips, soiling, and 4" wood chip right bottom corner, otherwise good overall condition considering age. 10'L x 9.5"H. NOTE: We were able to find an old trade advertisement in the "Cape Cod & All The Pilgrim Land" magazine from March 1922 indicating J.H. Wood & Son operated a Livery & Auto service on Nantucket.
