Pair of Plains Indian moccasins with floral beadwork decorations and 2 circular beadwork on leather ornaments, all belonging to Col. Alfred Hasbrouck formally of Poughkeepsie NY. (Col. Alfred Hasbrouck born in Poughkeepsie and graduated from West Point - he died in San Francisco in 1920 of unknown cause - saw action in the Philippines during the Spanish American War and the Boxer Rebellion in China, both with the 14th infantry - After graduating from West Point in 1883 he was stationed at Fort Fred Steele Wyoming in Indian Territory where it is presumed he obtained these moccasins). One moccasin with slight loss to green beadwork leaves, else very good condition. Provenance: From an early local Salt Point NY farmhouse - collection handed down from family.
