Item Details
Description
Pleistocene, 60000-40000 BC. A group of Mammuthus primigenius tusk fragments; some showing cut marks. The Siberian mammoth is found in the frozen tundra regions; in a few cases flesh, skin and hair have survived in the ice and there has been speculation as to whether a living mammoth could be cloned from the extinct remains. 92 grams total, 2.5-13cm (1 - 5"). Ex Lincolnshire, UK, collection; from Siberia. [10, No Reserve]
