Description
Late Hellenistic / Early Roman, ca. end 2nd / early 1st century BCE. Grey clay, mold-made; bi-conical body with offset, round base. Slightly concave discus with five perforations, fillet around filling hole. Profiled strap handle. Long nozzle with triangular tip and large, oval hole for the wick. A thyrsos and blossoms on the shoulder. 5-1/2"L x 2-3/4"W x 2-1/2"H. Cf. D.K. Tezgor - T. Sezer, Catalogue des Lampes en terre cuitedue musee archeologique d/Istanbul, Cat.
