2 Mettlach Incised Steins. Stein no. 1796 is a half-liter stein with incised panels on the body, artist signed “C. Wantt”, has a pewter thumb rest and collar around a pottery insert inset in the lid, 8.5 in. high; in excellent condition with no chips or hairlines. The second stein no. 2024 is a half-liter stein with incised shield and scenic city scapes on the stout body, has a pewter thumb rest and collar around a pottery insert inset in the lid, gilt highlights, 7.25 in. high; no chips or cracks, no repairs, thumb rest finial is slightly bent. Both are signed with Villeroy & Bach’s, Mettlach incised castle mark.
