Description
French, Late 19th/early 20th century. Louis XV style ebonized and ormolu mounted Bureau Plat desk or library table, the serpentine top centered with inlaid brass heraldic or military coat of arms flanked to each side with cherubs on swings, scrolling acanthus and winged caryatid busts within a oval medallion, the top further inlaid with brass banding and decorated to each corner with inlaid floral scrolling motif, the serpentine top edged in foliate ormolu over a conforming shaped frieze fitted with a single drawer, raised on cabriole legs each headed by an espagnolette wearing plumed headress, on acanthus-cast sabots, the whole with inlaid brass stringing. Height 30" width 57", depth 34.5".
