Lavishly painted Chinese rice paper album with 12 plates painted in opaque colors, mounted on white album paper with pasted blue frame bars and English titles in red print
The scenes from Chinese jurisdiction in the 19th century show punishments and executions, they are made in a delicate manner with remarkably lucent colors
Dimensions of rice paper: 11.5 x 18 cm
Original, scarlet silk binding with two intact thongs of braided hemp cord

Condition:
Few small blemishes in fragile, yet well-preserved rice paper. Images in excellent condition. With a brownish spot that gets stronger as of plate 9. With small isolated splits in image carrier and creased margin. Opaque paintings in splendid and fresh colors.
Binding:
Somewhat scraped and scuffed and with small holes. Silk covering partly loosened in places of edges.
