in a gilt composition Aesthetic frame, now over-painted with gold coloured paint some losses to the gesso of the frame canvas has not been re-lined retains the original wooden stretcher the reverse of the canvas is stained the canvas is loose on the stretcher there is a large horizontal tear upper right in the trees there is an additional smaller horizontal tear below under inspection with uv lamp there is evidence of recent retouching lower left corner there is further evidence of older over[paint throughout the sky otherwise good condition the paint surface is subject to extensive craquelyre
