After Donatello, Italian c.1386-1466, a filled bronze model of the equestrian statue of Gattamelata, late 19th century, on a grey marble base, 60cm high (VAT charged on hammer price) Notes:The Equestrian Statue of Gattamelata was completed by the Renaissance artist Donatello and dates from 1453. It is located in the Piazza del Santo in Padua. It portrays the Renaissance mercenary Erasmo da Narni, known as Gattamelata, who fought mostly on the side of the Venetians in the 15th century.
Condition
The surface patination is good, a bit dull, some areas where base metal is showing through, sword is lose, otherwise in sound condition
