Description
Volkstedt Porcelain (Germany, 1760- ). A late 19th/ early 20th century large "Dresden Lace" porcelain figural grouping comprising of three figures in 18th century dress with porcelain lace decoration, one a young beauty playing piano as a standing male and female dance with their arms raised. The grouping on a porcelain pedestal form base with gilt "tile" floor and scroll detail around edges. Marked to back of grouping with blue underglaze maker's mark. Approximately 11 1/8" x 16" x 9.25".
Condition
Standing male figure on the right is missing finger (see image 3). Few floral bouquets are missing on the floor which have left traces of glue residue (see image 9). Minute chips to floral bouquets on floor, not readily observable. Scattered traces of missing lace, however, not distracting. Slight discoloration to porcelain. Would benefit from cleaning.
