Item Details

Description

A beveled edge, wooden sign that measures 60” by 11 1/2”. It's a single board commonly used in New England in the early years. East Lynn was a location between Lynn and Swampscott on the Boston – Portsmouth line. This color and wood indicate that it was a freight depot. I don't know when passenger service was discontinued at this commuter location but employee timetables from the 1960's indicate no stops for even freight service. The sign has 4 mounting holes on the ends. There is a center split but it is still strong.
