As is well known, Andy Warhol lived with his mother for most of his life and Julia Warhol was highly influential on the artist’s work. There has also been much study of Julia’s own artistry; Andy and his mother each published a book in 1954, Andy Warhol’s, “25 Cats Name Sam and One Blue Pussy,” and Julia Warhol’s, “Holy Cats by Andy Warhol’s Mother.” Julia assigned this title herself, submitting her identity to his. This publication reflects their shared coexistence with numerous cats in a cramped apartment on Lexington Avenue. This first edition of, “Holy Cats,” has photo-lithographed calligraphic text with illustrations each printed on different colored and stock papers.

The book is toned, has cracks to the spine, minor stains and soiling and is pencil marked on back flyleaf.
