One Hundred and Thirty-Nine-Piece George IV Paul Storr (1771-1844) and Later "Coburg" Sterling Silver Flatware Set eighty pieces hallmarked London ,1816-1819, by Paul Storr, two London, 1823-1824, by Eley & Fearn, and 61 pieces London & Sheffield, 1980-1981, by C. J. Vander, the Storr pieces comprising a dinner service for twelve, with the knives and fish forks being later replacements/additions by Vander, with fourteen Storr serving pieces (including two plain and one straining platter spoon), and a cheese scoop and mustard spoon by Eley & Fearn, the Storr piece engraved with a double crest of a cubit arm and a demi-griffin, the whole presented in a custom fitted, baize-lined mahogany case with hinged lid and three drawers, 15-1/4" x 21" x 15".

Good. This is, as noted in the catalogue description, an 1816-1819 set by Paul Storr with 20th-century additions. Please request a detail sheet for the specifications of the pieces, age, marks, lengths and weights. All pieces are in generally good condition with wear consistent with age and use. The five original Storr lunch knives have replaced steel blades. The Storr forks have worn tines which have been slightly clipped to even them out. One Storr teaspoon has been heavily repaired, probably having suffered waste disposal damage. The large Storr carving set has the original steel fittings, the other two have later replacements. The Storr fish serving fork has later sterling tines. The case - which was clearly made for this set, probably around the time of the 1980-81 Vander additions - is in good condition, with some exterior bumps and scuffs.
