Based on the patina on handle, as well as carved interior rim, this object may have served as a lid at one time, likely to hold food or cosmetics. The graphic face makes a strong impression.

The lid is in very good condition with minor abrasions to the face and handle. The fiber string on the lid is intact and stable. There is an old, stable chip to the bottom of the rim. The lid alone measures 19 x 14 x 6 in. (length x width x height).
