A PAIR OF CONTINENTAL DERBY STYLE POLYCHROME ENAMEL AND GILT DECORATED PORCELAIN FIGURES, POSSIBLY FRANCE, CIRCA 1920, comprising a figure of a young gallant dressed as a shepherd, removing his hat with his left hand and holding a wine skin in the crook of his right elbow wearing blue jacket with gilt floral decoration, yellow ground waistcoat with gilt and polychrome enamel floral decoration, orange breeches with turquoise bordered reserves of floral sprays, white stockings and black shoes, on molded stump form base with scattered floral decoration and gilt scroll work, the back of stump with pseudo Derby mark in red, height: 21 3/4"; and a young lady dressed as a shepherdess, holding a wicker basket containing two doves in her left hand, wearing a gilt and orange floral decorated white dress, blue bodice with gilt floral decoration, yellow scarf, white stockings and beribboned orange shoes, on molded stump form base with scattered floral decoration and gilt scroll work, the back of the stump with pseudo Derby mark in red, height: 20 7/8".
