26 lines, in ink, on both sides of single sheet. 16x19.5 cm. (6½x7½").

Margaret Pierpoint testifies that "sometime past she being at Fort George whish was under the command of Capt. Benj. Larrabeee when Capt Thomas Wilson brought an Indian named Quinois before before Capt. Larrabee upon suspicion of his being a French Indian... James Beveridge declared upon oath that sd. Indian had a piece of silver which he called a French commission..." The document is signed, apparently, by Ms. Pierpoint. The final five lines of the document are by the Justice of the Peace, explaining that the witness made this affidavit since she was not certain she could make it to the trial in person. An interesting piece of evidence of the tensions between the French and British in North America, seven years before the start of the French and Indian War.
